Allow trade-ins/trade-ups. If they can sell off their old model quickly and easily they'll be more willing to do good business with you.

Allow lay-by. This way they can buy expensive items and pay them off over time. It makes so many things far more affordable.

Arrange easy finance. If you do it for them, then there's no excuse, and it's pretty hard for them to raise a price objection.

Ask people to buy some more. The answer is always no until you ask.

Allow Eftpos, cheques and credit cards. If it's easy to spend, the chances are, people will spend easily.

Allow payment terms. A payment plan, 3 easy payments, the easier it is for people to pay, the more customers can afford what you sell.

Add value on bigger dollar sales. Rather than discount, give away a gift that's got a high perceived value but little or no cost to you.

Show the highest price first and down sell. A $200 shirt seems cheap and the easiest way out compared with a $2,000 suit.

Sell service contracts. It's the follow through that counts, so be sure you're selling all you can to everyone you can.

Sack 'C' and 'D' grade customers. Stop trading with the little, painful and not really profitable customers.
